Course Description

This course discusses a range of essential topics for horse owners, riding clubs, pony clubs and prospective students all specialising in equine hoof-care, foot and hoof conditions, conformation and limb conditions, anatomy and physiology an introduction to the craft of Farriery.  

Certification

On successful completion, a Certificate of Attendance will be issued from Farriery Ireland.

Learning Outcomes

Introduction to Equine Hoof care Essential:

·       Daily Hoof-care

·       Basic Anatomy and Physiology of the lower limb

·       Common Foot and hoof conditions

·       Recognising Lameness

·       When to Call a Vet and Farrier

·       Shoeing for soundness

·       Hot and Cold shoeing
